you can enabled it in "preferences" -> "gadgets" then look for "mwEmbed"
alternatively any page with video or audio if you add
"withJS=MediaWiki:MwEmbed.js" to it should display the

Just tried again, can't seem to get the Kaltura player to appear at all. I'll
sort something out and see if I can find where it was enabled, and have another
go later.

No it doesn't. However, when I say "default" player, I mean that the one I
always use (as opposed to the VLC plugins, mplayer plugin, etc) is Cortado. At
