Tauhida: Could you also verify that the problem is fixed, and reopen this bug report in case that you can still reproduce this? Asking as the fix should have been deployed to *Commons* on October 31st according to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki_1.21/Roadmap and http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2012-October/064118.html . Images should be extracted on the client now if possible.
