There are very specific guidelines now for the logo, and the logo Mono proposed is the only way to follow them. We are not other projects, we are the simple English Wikipedia. If you want to change something that affects the simple English Wikipedia, then ask the community. It's really simple. Another point is, that the proposed logo has not the exact same text as the current one. I was under the impression that the logo had been updated. The current logo for Simple Wikipedia is entirely out of the visual identity guidelines and should be updated as soon as possible. Discussions were made on En.wiki on how to improve the image after it was implemented. Why not try to improve it now before implementing it. That way, we would have just 1 discussion with everyone on simple before implementing instead of 4 or 5 arguing about it after. The new logo looks differently to the old one and thus people need to agree with the change. It is possible that the local community wants to stick with the old one.
