I'd note that is a different bug then reported above.
In your link your complaining about the fact that typing in wikipedia: (or
whatever project namespace) only gives one search suggest

Many people also have this error. Should probably be an error of the
extension... [[simple:Wikipedia:Simple talk#Interesting bug]].
All namespaces have this error, except for the main names

I believe this bug appears due to an extension. I have a wiki, using 1.16wmf4,
which is the same version as WMF wikis. r78123. But I don't have this issue. I
installed most of the extensions
