If I cut items from a bulleted list and try to past them into another bulleted
list, the formatting gets confusing:

*Extra empty bullets get left behind when I cut.
*The relationship between an existing list and new items I paste to the end of
it can be wonky. Extra line breaks appear, and sub-bullets lost their
relationship to each other, so that pressing tab to increase the level of
indentation sometimes creates two bullets in a row instead of just increasing
the level of indentation.
