Huh, action="" should really only emit x-wiki for wikitext. The Content-Type header should come from ContentHandler, and should be application/json for JSON content. I wonder why this isn't the case here.

@cscott Yes, this needs a release, and a version bump in composer.json. Also, jsonld needs to be added to the default of the entityDataFormats setting in Wikibase.default.php (and possibly to production config). JSON-LD also need to be added to RdfWriterFactory. The code

Please note that these are preliminary results, and that tables have yet to be optimized/analyzed, but I think this confirms we are in the right track.

One additional comment is that if you kind of agree, in some cases, to do the "new table and copy" pattern rather than an alter. It is much easier to add or transform columns later, so no need to optimize in advance. NULLs in compact or above rows formats take 1 byte min,

Ok, here is what I plan to do:
make sha1 field nullable. That way, we can easily stop writing it to preserve space, without the need for a schema change.
no page IDs in the content or slots tables. Since we won't use native MySQL partitioning, we can introduce the fields
