hoo reopened this task as "Open".hoo added a comment. Actually I was (slightly) wrong here, while MMV is going to pick up the images automatically, it does not automatically load. This is because the loading of the required RL modules is not (automatically) triggered. This is because MMV loads [ 'mmv.head', 'mmv.bootstrap.autostart' ] (for non-file pages) only if OutputPage::getFileSearchOptions is non-empty. But for Wikibase entities, getFileSearchOptions is empty, as we register images without sha1 or timestamp in ParserOutput::addImage. I'm not sure how to proceed here… I don't see how MMV would be able to find out whether images exist on a page. Maybe Wikibase should actually also set the sha1 and timestamp? One question to resolve: P999=Q888 assumes the part after = is an entity ID. However, in T163642 and T99899 it could be a string. We will need syntax for both, and generic name like haswbstatement does not convey which one it uses. Yurik added a comment. @daniel sorry, let me clarify. The goal is to use Wikbase as a secondary documentation (metadata) for the tags, not as a tag storage replacement. We need to describe each tag, describe how they relate to each other, provide localized documentation, etc. OSM has multiple key-value tags (strings) for each object. The string keys could be represented by Wikibase entities (with some hacking to use string instead of integers to ID, per above). Some of these tags use "free form" values - like address - there is no need to store/document these in Wikibase, but we may store some validation information in the tags itself (e.g. store some regex in the "zip code" tag) Some other tags like religion imply a predefined list of values (enum). As you can see, there is currently a big list on that page, and that list could be stored in Wikibase. So the question is - should that list of values be stored as statements on the "religion" tag, or use a more flexible approach to store each as a separate entity, possibly in a separate namespace. Storing them as statements may make that entry too big (hundreds), and not offer enough flexibility. For example, for religion=pagan -- pagan should link to Wikidata's entry, and also may link to some other key to specify that it should/shouldn't be used with that, or it may point to another value as a redirect. So if values are stored in a separate namespace, what would be the good way to identify them? One way could be "religion=pagan" form -- include both the tag key and value. If I see correctly, what happens is: User logs out User enters its credentials User is redirected to Main Page (is she was logged in?), but apparently is not logged in (e.g. Log in, instead of Log out link on the top of the pagE) User is redirected to Login Page when trying to access their user preferences. Uzume added a comment. Perhaps this ticket is old but it seems to me we already have such filters with mw.wikibase.getBestStatements and mw.wikibase.getAllStatements. Of course those do not pull multiple properties in a single execution but they do filter to a single property without pulling the expensive complete set/tree of property data. TASK DESCRIPTIONSeparating from T187521#4133553 commonswiki errors due to deadlocks on INSERT IGNORE INTO wbc_entity_usage seem to be common (not too worrying, but on of the most comon database errors), could the code be optimized to avoid those? I am guessing that the same row is written many times (once per change on the same item), and maybe that could be simplified somehow. INSERT IGNORE is a bit of a bad trick here, and we may be writing multiple times the same data without need.
