Valid language codes have essentially the same problem, except they link to the translated version of "Main Page", e.g. https://www.wikidata.org/?uselang=kl, https://www.wikidata.org/?uselang=gn and https://www.wikidata.org/?uselang=gv all point to non-existent pages. The only ones which work are where we've created MediaWiki:Mainpage/xx. I was expecting that srlimit would limit the results to the number given, since I only wanted the top 10 results.
It seems that, regardless of the value of srlimit, it fetches all pages of the results (presumably fetching srlimit each time).
I think it would make sense to only fetch all of the results when srlimit isn't used. If someone wants all the results, fetching them in smaller batches seems inefficient (and likely to cause timeouts). Physikerwelt added a comment. @Jdlrobson from my understanding what happens during hook registration code is that this code is only called if the parser sees a math,ce, or chem tag in the template expanded wikitext. I could imagine that during template expansion math tags might appear under certain circumstances. The Barack Obama article on enwiki uses neither the chem or the math parser functions but the ext.math.styles appear to be leaking into the page some how. How that's happening, I have no idea. TASK DESCRIPTIONproperty scope is a new constraint type specifying where a property may be used: in the main snak, in qualifiers, and/or in references. There has been some controversy about the way this constraint is modeled, but from the project talk page there now seems to be general agreement that the constraint parameter for this is the new property scope property. Should be fairly easy to implement: add support for the parameter to ConstraintParameterParser (returning an array of Context::TYPE_* constants), and then in the new checker simply look at the context’s type. In the interest of a healthy relationship with the community, I think we should implement this as soon as possible :) however, there will be no deployments on the week of June 18th (SRE offsite), so the next regular deployment where this could happen will be on the evening of June 27th (assuming no train problems). hoo added a comment. There might be some difference in memory consumption or or time to deserialize to consider, but probably nothing too bad. Well, I vaguely remember loading the php-serialization from cache being about 30% faster than deserializing JSON, but I can't quite remember where I benchmarked this (probably benchmarked this while working on dumps). When considering this, we should really benchmark this thoroughly. Special:MergeLexemes? UX!? Do we create a new API endpoint? wblmergelexemes? What happens if one lexeme links to a form of the other lexeme? Do we abort the merge? What happens if a form has a subset of the representations of a form on the other lexeme? (e.g. en: colors, en-gb: colours vs only en:colors) What happens if a form has a subset of the grammatical features of a form on the other lexeme? The idea is that we would want to split/refactor DerivedPageDataUpdater before we start using it in more parts of the code.
