what could cause WDQS to return 403 instead of 429?
If you ignore 429 (i.e. try to access the service again within the timeout period specified in Retry-After inside 429) you eventually get temporarily banned, which results in 403.

Not sure how this could be interpreted? You can't set an alias if there are no valid language tag for the entry, unless you use an otherwise wrong language tag.

Adding ?uselang=en-gb gets you the correct messages, even though at least wikibase-statementsection-statements does not have a specific en-gb version – it correctly falls back to en, even though ?uselang=en uses the wrong language. Curious.TASK

If you set the interface language to something else and then open the page with ?uselang=en, you’ll also get the incorrect messages. Anonymous users are also affected: I see the same messages when downloading the page with curl.

This property would probably have to be added to the Parsoid-format HTML in order to have any actual effect. But I'm not certain how/whether Google's search pipeline for WMF projects actually does anything with our content. We should probably talk to our contacts at

The feedback I have seen from the hardcore Wikipedia people that never touch WD but has opinion about WD is
Occupations they would like to have in a specific order ==> the occupation they think is the "main" occupation should be first etc...
