  I'm not 100% sure that slabs are the problem here, but I'll try to followup 
later.
  
  In the meantime, the servers we've rebooted yesterday are definitely showing 
the same behaviour again. This means that in a week we'll have to reboot them 
all again.
  
  I am therefore:
  1 - raising this task to UBN! priority, as this has the potential to disrupt 
the work of all SREs constantly
  2 - focusing on looking at what was changed on August 4th in the morning, 
mostly in code, and try to rule out stuff. This might result in some reverts.
  3 - Trying to build better automation around the task of rebooting a large 
fleet of servers.
  
  Also adding tags for platform engineering and wikidata as the two potentially 
worrisome code changes regard Score's enablement and a change to Wikibase.

  - real time last 10 minutes and last one hour aggregated revision frequencies 
tracked.
  
  Now:
  
  - implement news search;
  - decoration: find out about the most popular classes, maybe geo-coordinates 
where present to have a map on the dashboard, and similar;
  - develop a dashboard;
  - figure out deployment/production.

  I mean adding a better revision id lookup (using the cached service in core) 
would definitely improve things but one thing in general: Rdf output if is not 
on dump flavor, loads all entities that are linked in it (all items, 
properties, etc.). I filed T243950: RDF output of an entity loads all 
referenced entities, it shouldn't   
in Jan for it.

  So this actually just happens now in production...

  Other formats like ttl and json etc seem to work, only nt seems to fail?
  is nt the only one that does this crazy `resolveMentionedEntities`?
  
  Pinging @Ladsgroup as he recently touched something in T255305

  Now it's deployed across the fleet. Here's my analysis:
  
  - I was worried that constant decompressing of values coming from memcached 
would elevate the CPU usage but it didn't
  - I was worried that since wikibase has the caches keyed by entity id instead 
of revision id (which sqlblob store key them based on revision id) would 
increase the read on s8, this actually happened:

  (You can guess when it got deployed everywhere)
  but it's not big enough to cause any major disruption (note that the graph 
doesn't start at zero).
  
  - Looking at mc* hosts and the overall network graphs of mcrouter/memcached, 
I see a rough 10% decrease in network but the noise makes it hard to show you.
  - When I deployed it, the hits of SqlBlobStore didn't change much (it's 
pretty high anyway, 1M/minute) but misses doubled which is expected, the cache 
is warm. It's still putting the long tail into memcached:

  - Naturally External Storage had a little pressure but recovered.

  - After TTL of Wikibase memcached entries expiring, evictions are going up:

  No noticeable increase in user-facing error or fatals or timeouts has been 
observed.
  
  I leave Xghui of two client cases:
  
  - Article of Alan Turing in cawiki: before

  - Category:Alan Turing in commons: before

  Both are the second time requests to warm up their caches. The increase in DB 
is obvious but the easiest solution is to use 
RevisionLookup::getKnownCurrentRevision() instead of 
PrefetchingWikiPageEntityMetaDataAccessor which has a much better cache.

  This is not technically a #Regression 
 as it was always broken for 
"languages" like `⧼Lang⧽` or `%E2%A7%BCLang%E2%A7%BD `. However, since we have 
validation for our TermLanguageFallbackChain, this problem/bug has become more 
apparent, because now the chain can be empty whereas before it at least 
contained the invalid interface language.

  Thank you for pointing me to this ticket. This ticket should indeed be mostly 
done when T259783: LanguageFallbackChain does not end in 'en' (i.e. repo wiki 
content language)  is done. However, 
`getLanguagesOrderedByFallbackChain` will semantically change from always at 
least including the interface language to always including at least the content 
language. Unfortunately, I missed that during T256405: Investigate where and 
how \Wikibase\Lib\LanguageFallbackChain is used 
. And I'm not sure whether that is a 
problem, because I do not know the domain enough. So, I think this ticket here 
has its reason to stay open to make sure that is taken care of and not 
forgotten.

  We've discovered that *part* of the problem here is an early escape in the 
lua that was added in I75d3c70302270a62db93b7e1fe790b2355f75dc2 with the 
intention of preventing bad keys getting into the cache.
  
  So we also need to adapt this carefully in such a way that we don't make the 
cache breakable again
