One of the issues currently preventing this at Wikivoyage seems to be that:

It should be possible to define the QID when creating the article.
Otherwise an infobox would initially appear empty when a new article includes it.

What could work is the following:
If the zoom is for more than 270°, it could attempt to re-calculate it on a center with 180°.
