[Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] T151539: Provide creation date of item (schema:dateCreated ) in SPARQL at query.wikidata.org

2023-12-05 Thread TiagoLubiana
TiagoLubiana added a comment.

As this has been mentioned recently by @Envlh, I'd like to post a workaround,
may be helpful:

  F41563210: image.png <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/F41563210>

I've recently learned about Q38074555 and Q73616850 and how they are very
useful for queries like https://w.wiki/85Ev, that infer timelines for item
creation:

  Q38074555 <https://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q38074555> – QID milestone
  Q73616850 <https://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q73616850> – PID milestone

[Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] T202676: Customize Item Identifier prefix (currently: Q)

2023-11-13 Thread TiagoLubiana
TiagoLubiana added a comment.

Hello! Do you know if there have been any updates on this matter?

I saw https://github.com/nyurik/OsmWikibase was slightly modified by @Yurik
this year, so maybe this is still at least desired (even with all caveats)?

I am studying applications that rely on Wikibase IDs to render pages (e.g.
"https://scholia.toolforge.org/organization/Q23048689;) that could access 2 or
more Wikibases simultaneously.

Of course, one can always use a prefix in the URL (/localwb:Q42).

I am playing around with an wikibase for events, it would be really good to
be able to just use "start time" instead of relying on qualifiers. Any progress
on that direction, at least for wikibase / wbstack? (@Addshore ?)

[Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] [Commented On] T141567: [Story] Compact Statementview

2020-05-09 Thread TiagoLubiana
TiagoLubiana added a comment.

Also, I believe that transcluding the text from T239820: Foldable statements
for multivalued properties <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T239820> may be
useful:

  Based on the discussion here:
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Contact_the_development_team#Suggestion:_Foldable_Statements,
this ticket has been created. The idea is to support foldable statements for
multi-valued properties like that for references. Take for example software
versions of Mediawiki software <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q83> take a lot
of space as shown in the figure below (above by @Jsamwrites). The user has to
scroll a lot for seeing the next property value.
Other examples include population values, biological process (Property:P681
<https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P681>), example coming from the
discussion above).

[Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] [Commented On] T141567: [Story] Compact Statementview

2020-05-08 Thread TiagoLubiana
TiagoLubiana added a comment.

  Hello all,

  Contributing with an example:

Covid-19 related items are hard to browse manually, due to a great number of
values for number of cases, number of deaths and hospitalisations.

For example, the item for the pandemic in France
(https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q83873593 )

Notice the scrollbar position for the beginning and the end of the statement
for number of deaths.
  F31808722: image.png <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/F31808722>
  F31808723: image.png <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/F31808723>

It occupies more than five times the space of all four other previous
statements, labels in 4 languages and the item title combined. This makes the
interface quite unfriendly to navigate.
