I am such a wiki editor who adds and maintains lists.
In particular, I add lists of embassies to Wikivoyage articles.

I have found the reason.
pagebanner is incompatible with the gadget Add an [edit] link for the lead
section of a page in Preferences.
Disabling this gadget fixes the problem.

Making banners usually involves resizing the image, and sometimes rotating it a
bit. I guess further parameters would be needed for this? At least resizing
would be very nice to have.

I like the fact that links are copyable via right-click (needed when sharing
deep links).
The TOC does not appear in preview. While not useful during preview, it is good
to have the same appearance during preview if possible.

Qgil: I think there is matter for a GSoC task, and the benefits would be great
for Wikivoyage but also as an experiment for all wikis.
I can act as a Wikivoyage-side contact if you want. I successfully served as a

it from Wikivoyage.

The goal of Wikidata banners is to share banners between all Wikivoyage
projects. This is the huge benefit that prompted us to use Wikidata for banners.
Exceptionally, a project may choose to override a value, but that's rare and
does not negate

The concept of TOC is built into MediaWiki
(https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Table_of_contents) so I guess that
including the TOC in the banner via the extension could make sense, rather than
doing it manually.
