[Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] T249928: default wikibase-docker installation creates quantity values with invalid unit-concept-URI
Toni_001 added a comment. The issue seems to be that the API expects the unit item to be of the form `location + /entity/QID` instead of `concept base URI + QID`, where `location` is the address on which the wikibase instance is accessible (say, the main page). For Wikidata this is not an issue because users go to wikidata.org and edit there: `location` and `concept base URI` coincide (more or less). However, in a production environment, edits might happen on a temporary URL before pushing the instance to the production URL. For both instances (temporary and production) the `concept base URI` is the same. Therefore, the unit item should start with the `concept base URI`. [Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] [Commented On] T246731: WDQS date handling produces errors for Julian dates
Toni_001 added a comment. Hello. I just ran into the same issue. For comparison, look at JSON instead: http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q16931292.json There, the "value" object contains the following fields: time: "+1498-06-22T00:00:00Z" calendarmodel: "http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q1985786; This means that JSON contains the original value, together with the calendar model to which the value corresponds. I do understand the logic provided by @Lucas_Werkmeister_WMDE. However, as developer, I missed the fact that in RDF, the `wikibase:timeValue` field contains the converted-to-Gregorian value instead of the value corresponding to the calendar - contrary to what JSON does. As developer, in certain situations, I'd like access to the original - unconverted - value, to faithfully extract the value entered in the user interface. This does not seem possible in RDF at the moment. I propose to add a field `wikibase:timeValueCorrespondingToOriginalCalendar` (better name to be discussed). [Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] [Commented On] T174504: Coordinates are exported into RDF with excessive precision
Toni_001 added a comment. Hello. I stumbled over this ticket out of curiosity. Here my contribution: 1. GeoSPARQL [1], which defines the `geo:wktLiteral` datatype, does not mention the concept of precision. Therefore, the number of digits does not imply any precision (at least not when following the standard). 2. This is similar to the datatype `xsd:decimal` [2], which does not carry any information about precision. The standard states that explicitly and gives an example where 2.0 equals 2.00 (in that space of `xsd:decimal`). 3. Wikibase already handles precision [3] with a `"precision"` field for coordinates and time, and `"upperBound"` and `"lowerBound"` for quantities/numbers. Therefore I'd conclude that the precision-argument alone is not sufficient to justify truncating digits. (There might be other, practical considerations, though.) Running the query provided by @Dipsacus_fullonum a couple of times (with slight variations to "trick" the cache), the unit wd:P174728 is still present in the result of all runs.
