At some point this year I expect we will be taking a look at this, and other
tickets, and how exactly our docker images all tie together, do clever things
and any "automation" held within.
The level of "automation" vs manual actions needs to be decided on basically.
I imagine in order to satisfy everyone there will need to be a totally non
automated mode and a totally automated mode.
We kind of have that now, but the automated mode required you to not touch
any config settings other than those currently provided in the env vars.
This mode still requires you to run things like update.php for version
updates etc.
The non automated mode can be achieved by overriding your LocalSettings file
and also the entrypoint of the container (so that the "magic" things that are
intended to make initial setup easier for beginners dont run).
At the end of the day, everyone will want something different, some people
will want automatic db updates, some will not, some will want to specify
everything in env vars, others will want to just override the localSettings.php
so they always know exactly what is in there. e.c
