Within Wikimedia I'd really expect it to be directly editable; on a third-party wiki, a plain display of elements with an edit icon linking to Wikidata might be more suitable. For very tight integrations, some implementation of Wikidata Bridge would be an interesting possibility, but then you might need federated or remote login for credit, too. But I think this has been superseded by events? There is already an editor, with a notice "Structured data labels link to their respective Wikidata pages and will open in a new window."
