Multichill created this task. Multichill added a project: Wikidata. TASK DESCRIPTION Currently when adding statements with references we'll first call https://www.wikidata.org/w/api.php?action=help&modules=wbcreateclaim and after that https://www.wikidata.org/w/api.php?action=help&modules=wbsetreference . This creates two edits in the history. It would make more sense to be able to do it in one edit. Adding a new optional field "referencesnaks" to wbcreateclaim in which you but the snaks you usually put in wbsetreference would probably cover this. All the other fields in wbsetreference are either already present in wbcreateclaim or not applicable because these are for updating references.
