There is no need to have item for each redirect.
But it would be usefuil if SOME redirects could be linked in wikidta items

It's no problem if multiple redirects link to the same place.
For example, on en-wiki, we have

I've been thinking some more about Daniel's replies in IRC chat last
week, about using qualifiers to handle underlying works that images are
derived from, if the underlying work isn't either (i) another image, or
(ii) something with its own Wikidata item
