It's an interesting point. I personally would prefer seeing the Wikipedia instance's own language and English stay at the top, followed by the rest in alphabetical order. A longer stretch might be providing alternative ordering methods for languages such as alphabetical order, descending sizes of that page in each Wikipedia instance.
