I just tried to reply to James' message but it was lost. I recall reading
some issue with LQT on user subpages. I really wish we could set preferences
to use traditional wikitext over ride on LQT (or any GUI overlay for that
matter)

Thanks for this, Wayne, appreciate it.
One of the things I'm wondering about is whether there are any
complications with users who wish to use a public domain license for
their contributions to wikis with cc/gfdl licensing?

Greetings Dr.Ramakrishnan
The progress you have made with the ID generation initiative is
phenomenal and I see growing numbers of educators from India enrolling
for the next L4C workshop -- no doubt encouraged by your Ambassadorship!

At the moment, users should use the {{Template:Metadata}} on the upload

See: http://wikieducator.org/Template:Metadata

equivalent free license types which are permissible in WE, ie.
GNU(FDL)
CC-BY

Hi Wayne,
The e-mail ID generation initiative is slowly gathering momentum
and a few Professors/Lecturers have registered and opened User Pages
for L4C workshop scheduled on 23rd June, 2008.
I happened to note a suggestion to entrust a Wikibuddy to organize
post-workshop activities etc. That wou
Yes, that seems consistent with what exponents of CC licenses have always
said, and so it gives more value to the jurisdictions in the licenses.

I had a look at
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/2.5/au/legalcode
I think the most (and perhaps only) relevant part is "THE WORK IS
PROTECTED BY COPYRIGHT AND/OR OTHER APPLICABLE LAW." In other words,
CC/GFDL etc. are simply using copyright law, so any such licenses
