We have tried a social bookmarking button in the WikiEducator navigation sidebar for the past couple of years. Unfortunately this implementation has some privacy concerns and technical limitations that make it less than ideal as a global solution.
If you frequently share information via one of the social media sites, you probably already have browser extensions or "bookmarklets" that do a better job. If you would like to restore the button we have been testing for your own use, you can copy the line: importScript('User:JimTittsler/AddThis.js'); into your WikiEducator custom Javascript file (usually either http://WikiEducator.org/Special:MyPage/vector.js or http://WikiEducator.org/Special:MyPage/monobook.js, depending upon your skin preference). My thanks to Kim Tucker for launching this discussion on the WikiEducator-tech mailing list. If you have an interest in the technology running WikiEducator, I encourage you to get involved there as well. http://groups.google.com/group/wikieducator-tech Jim Tittsler Tech @ OER Foundation -- Jim Tittsler Tokyo http://OERfoundation.org/ http://OERu.org/ -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "WikiEducator" group.
