Hi RomaineThanks for this question. Though, I may be wrong. The information I submitted it's the best you can get from the National Monuments in Nigeria at the moment. The link I shared below was gotten from a
Hi Olaniyan,
Welcome in Wiki Loves Monuments!
In Wiki Loves Monuments, we prefer to tag monuments with the ID (mostly)
the government institution who indicated what is a monument, has assigned
to the monument.
Do you have a list of monuments available in a spreadsheet perhaps? like

Hey Olanian,
maybe it would help if you could share what definition of 'monument' you're
planning to use? That could give us some insight, and make answering
easier.

Hi all,
Below you can find my comments:

Juliana, it is okay for your monuments to belong to multiple lists. In your
case, you can create three top level entry points for lists by the National
Institute of Cultural Heritage Preservation, the States and the
Municipalities. This
It deppends on your source. If it is published you can use something useful for
your reference, like "source identifier"-"page number"-"monument order within
the page". If it is hard the construct an unique identifier, you can add a

Best approach is to use ID from higuest level. You can have internally several
IDs in the template, for your control or for linking to different dababases if
they are available online, but show only an unique ID.

Hi Olanian,
Maybe you could ask if the monuments and objects have a record number, used
to identy them in a paper based documentation system. Or try to establish
numbers for them by your own.

That's cool! It's there a standard way of numbering?I will appreciate if anyone on the platform can help me with it. Thanks.
Hi!
You should invent an identifyer yourself so that later you can match these
with official lists when they are published.

In Nigeria, majority of the museums are not computerised. Hence, they do not have a unique identifier for the monument. What can we do in this case?
Thanks. Vira. It is my first time in WLM Brazil and I hope that me and
my volunteer colleagues can find a good solution. As you said, maybe it is
going to be easier to follow the lists with the highest rank. And about the
Wikidata, I hope we can have time to work on there too. If it happens, we
Hi,
I can put here a little about WLM in Ukrainian. Just as in Brazil, our
monuments appear in lists of different levels with different IDs.
Moreover, official IDs are not unique through the state and may repeat in
different regions.
We created our own system of giving IDs to monuments. We would
Hello all!
Nice to see other fellows form South America and around here.
As we are started talking about the unique identifier for the monuments, I
would like to ask the group about the following situation: in Brazil we
have monuments listed by the National Institute of Cultural Heritage
(starting a new thread, that way it's easier to find)
the identifier of a monument usually originates from the 'authority' (the
government, usually). There are some good examples here:

If that doesn't answer
Great!!!One of the questions that I need this platform to answer for us is in the area of ID for monument.Where does the ID comes from, is it the WLM or from the originating country of the monuments. Best
