Hi to all,
without being too original here, and following praveenp comments - would
be good to encourage recipients of WMF scholarship to organize some type
of Wikimania follow-up activities back in their groups or chapters.

I do believe that most of them are doing it anyway without any
requirements from WMF, but if majority would  do it - we could have
something as a ”permanent Wikimania” unfolding globally for a couple of
months after the official Wikimania.

Re: [Wikimedia-l] Advertizing Wikimania (youtube) livestreams on centralnotice

2017-08-18 Thread Gheorghe Zugravu
Hi to all,

adding my 5c to this discussion - the video has a bit more than 3500
views (3642 to be precise at the time i checked). I found the number of
views a bit contrary to the number of potential visualizations of
English WP sites.

all the best,

Re: [Wikimedia-l] UTC in politics, editors threaten, or how rev history made the news

2015-03-03 Thread Gheorghe Zugravu
Hi,
a big thank you to Yuri for flagging this case of manipulation of public
opinion.

Reading through the links provided - i can say WP edit time was mostly
discussed among ”pro-state” media. One journalist even went as far as
insinuating that assassination was planned in the ”west” and that WP
was used to provide for media coverage (sic!)

I think that RU:WP should ask for apologies from the newspapers.

 Hello,

FYI we had the same issue two years ago in Tunisia when a Tunisian

Finally the Radio station who relayed this scoop wrote an apologize
