I hope this email finds you well. Today, I am writing to inform you about a
significant change within our community. With mixed emotions, we are saying
goodbye to our esteemed Programs Officer, Ruby D-Brown.

Ruby has been an invaluable member of our team, contributing her time,
energy, and expertise to the success of numerous programs and initiatives
during her time at Open Foundation West Africa. Her dedication and passion
have left a lasting impact on our community, and we are truly grateful for
the positive influence she has had on all of us.

As Ruby embarks on a new chapter in her career, we want to take this
opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for her outstanding
contributions. Her commitment to excellence and unwavering enthusiasm have
been instrumental in the success of many of our programs.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we navigate
through this transition. We remain committed to delivering exceptional

[Wikimedia-l] Africa Day Campaign Microgrant

Hello everyone,

After the first announcement of the Africa Day Campaign Microgrant, we are
giving the opportunity to Wikimedians in these following countries to apply
for the microgrant:

Egypt, Algeria, Liberia, Guinea, Botswana, Kenya and Uganda.

As part of this campaign, we are calling on all organizers across Africa to
join us in increasing knowledge about topics related to Africa through
activities such as edit-a-thons, content campaign drives, local writing
contests, and so much more! We want to make this a memorable and
unforgettable event for everyone.

Who can apply;

The best part? We are offering microgrants ranging between USD500 and
USD1000 to Wikimedia user groups, affiliates, Mission aligned organizations
and institutions, as well as individuals in the aforementioned countries to
support their participation in this campaign.

Application Deadline

The deadline to apply is *Sunday 14th, May 2023*.

About the campaign

Open Foundation West Africa  is proud to be an
implementing partner for this year's Africa Day Campaign, which is part of
the African Knowledge Initiative (AKI)
. This
initiative was born out of a partnership between Wikimedia Foundation
 , Africa Union , and Africa
No Filter  with a goal to increase the
coverage of African topics on Wikimedia projects.

[Wikimedia-l] OFWA TOT Workshop 2023

For us at OFWA, we started the year with our annual impactful TOT workshop.
We hosted all our hub leaders across the regions in Ghana to a two-day
Train the Trainer session in Accra.
The team was a blend of both experienced hub leads and new and potential
hub leaders. The main objective of the workshop is to equip hub leaders
with basic knowledge on how to manage their hubs as well as how to
effectively deliver training to their members.

The session entailed courses on Wikipedia,  Wikidata tools and games,
Wikimedia Commons, Hub Management, Movement Strategy and other courses.
