[Wikimedia-l] Share special moments from your Wikipedia 20 celebration!

2021-03-25 Thread Lena Traer
Hi everyone,

We have started a Wikipedia 20 Scrapbook on meta wiki [1]. This is a space
where we all can document the celebration events we held or are planning to
hold to celebrate Wikipedia 20.

You can add any photos you have of your event, share a moment, a link to
the event page, screenshots of your virtual event, a photo of your cake or
anything else you want to post in the scrapbook to document your
celebration.

There is a link in the header with instructions on how to add a new section
for your event. You can also find sample image galleries on the page.

We look forward to seeing all the wonderful images and memories from the
celebrations around the world!

We also wanted to remind you that Rapid Grants are available to support
your Wikipedia 20 planned events. For events taking place in May, please
submit your grant application by 15 April, and for events taking place
through the end of July 2021, please submit your application no later than
15 June 2021. You can find more information on Rapid Grants for Wikipedia
20 and the application form on meta.[2]

Best,

Lena and the Wikipedia 20 team

[Wikimedia-l] Wikipedia 20 Celebrations

2020-09-03 Thread Lena Traer
Hello everyone,

I hope that you are all well and keeping healthy and safe. As you know,
Wikipedia's 20th birthday (aka Wikipedia 20) is coming up in January! We
wanted to get the information out to you so you can join our discussions.

We have created a Meta-Wiki hub as a central place for coordination around
this milestone.[1] It is set up similarly to Wikipedia 15 pages. It is
designed to help coordinate community efforts and will have resources to
support outreach, events, and other forms of celebration throughout 2021.

An overview of the Wikimedia Foundation’s planned activities (work in
progress) can be found here.[2] If your affiliate or other organized group
already has a plan (or the beginnings of a plan), we invite you to share it
on this page as well, or use the Talk page for discussions.[3]

We are coordinating our planning efforts with the Communications Committee
and Movement Communications Group. Anyone working on movement
communications is invited to join the Movement Communications Group and
participate in further planning.[4]

Looking forward to hearing from you about all the exciting things you are
planning for Wikipedia 20!

All the best,

On behalf of the Wikipedia 20 Team,
Lena
