2021-06-04 Thread Olushola Olaniyan
Dear Maria,

Yeah! Eight years seem to be a very long time but considering your
achievements and the excellent works that you've done as the Chair of the
Board of Trustees at the Wikimedia Foundation, it was like yesterday that
you were made the Chair of the Board.

Sincerely, I am proud of you!

I pray that you will continue to break the glass ceiling in all your future
endeavours.

I am just this cheerful news.

Thank you, Lukas, for sharing this news.

I am super excited about this news, and i wish to congratulate Christian
for achieving the feat.

I cannot forget in a hurry the support provided by you and your team during
the time of my case with the German embassy in Nigeria. Though the case
lasted for over two years yet i was eventually justified.

I, therefore, wish you the very best in your tenure as the new ED,

Hi Katherine,

I am glad you have done so much as an outgoing Executive Director of the
Wikimedia Foundation and no one can question it.

Sincerely, you have cast your name in Gold with the way you have responded
to critics and reshaped the movement. Now, we could see ourselves not as a
tool in the hand of a few but as a platform that stands to sustain the
revolution of the universe.

It takes only a few to do so and you happen to be one of the very few to
have achieved this feat.

Though the journey to the destination desired by you for the movement might
seem to be far, I am glad that you have laid the track.

Continue with your Midas touch and break the glass ceiling.

I am wishing you the very best in your next endeavour.

I celebrate You.

[Wikimedia-l] Courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. ( UNN)

2019-05-12 Thread Olushola Olaniyan
Dear all,

We are glad to inform you of our recent courtesy visit to the University of
Nigeria.

Our mandate as Wikimedia User Group (operating as Wikimedia Nigeria
Foundation in Nigeria) is to introduce Wikipedia and it's sister projects
to all the citizen of the federal republic of Nigeria.

I and the Wikimedia community residing at the University of Nigeria Nsukka
(UNN) led by Professor Chinwe Nwogo Ezeani, the University Librarian met
with the Vice Chancellor of UNN professor Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba and
the principal officers of the institution at the VC's conference room on
the 8th May 2019.

I am so honored and delighted to speak to the highest echelon of the
prestigious university about the impact of Wikipedia in education and the
support of Wikimedia Foundation in Africa and the entire globe to ensure
that every human being has access to the sum of all human knowledge.

UNN is one of the 10 tertiary institutions in Nigeria where Wikimedia
communities are established in Nigeria.

The meeting is made possible by professor Ezeani and Dr. Ngozi Osadebe the
coordinator of Art+ Feminism at the institution.

Regards
