Hello all,

—-------

tl;dr: The Movement Strategy & Governance team will conduct interviews with
groups working on a Hub in their context. Findings from these interviews
will serve as a basis for the Global Conversations event on Regional and
Thematic Hubs, which will take place on March 12, 13:00 to 16:00 UTC.

—---------

We, the Wikimedia movement, are still in the process of trying to
understand and come to an alignment on what Regional and Thematic Hubs
should be. Our workshop back in November was a good start, but we're still
away from having a clear definition of it.[1]

Now, we want to take a different approach on it: We want to conduct
interviews with all interest groups that are working on establishing a
regional or thematic hub in their context. Our main and guiding question
for these interviews will be ****What are the generally shared and
context-specific needs among the Wikimedians exploring the hub concept*?***

We are in the process of scheduling these interviews with all groups
interested (Hubbers, check your inboxes in the coming days!). If you would
like to talk proactively with us, let us know! You can find more details on
these interview series (we call it Hubs Dialogue) on Meta.[2]

In a second step, we will provide a report with the outcomes of these
interviews. The aim of the event is to share these findings with the
Movement, ensure that they reflect Wikimedians’ lived experiences, and from
this shared understanding, start discussing how the conclusions can be
integrated into the Movement Charter drafting process.

What do we expect from participants? We will share the findings and we
would like participants to listen in, understand, and reflect on these.

*The event will take place on March 12, 13:00 to 16:00 UTC on Zoom.
*Interpretation
will be provided in French, Spanish, Arabic, and Portuguese. Registration
will open next week (Feb 24) and will close shortly before the event (March
10). Anyone interested in the topic is invited to join us. More information
(and even more to be published soon) on Meta.[3]

Best regards,

Cornelius
