[Wikimedia Northern Europe] Time to nominate WikiNEM participants

*Hello,As you know, on 6-7 October 2018 (with a dinner on Friday 5th),
Wikimedia Sverige will organize a small event with our sister affiliates in
Northern Europe – Wikimedia Northern Europe Meeting

(WikiNEM). It will take place at Goto10 <https://www.goto10.se/english/> in
Stockholm. This is the first regional conference and we hope it will be a
recurrent event. About the eventThe aim of the event is to find shared
areas of interest and identify how we can work together. This includes, for
example, the organization of future events (WikiNEM next year, Wikimania
etc.), joint activities around GLAM, education, lobbying and volunteering.
All of WikiNEM will be organized as an “Open space”, a type of meeting
technique that generates highly intensive dialogue based on those who are

[Wikimedia Northern Europe] Update about Northern Europe Meeting in Stockholm + question about dates

Hi everybody!

I just wanted to give you a few updates:

   - We have preliminary booked a venue (in the same building as our new
   office).
   - We found a motel next to it which charge 975 per night (including
   breakfast and wifi). That would leave each participant receiving a
   scholarship of around 1,000 SEK (95 euro) for travel.
   - We are contacting a facilitator about availability as well.

In our application we wrote that the event would take place 17-19 August.
However, I was told at the Wikimedia Conference that this might create
problems for some to participate. For WMSE's staff September would actually
work much better. Would the general consensus be to move the event to a
weekend in September instead? Wikimedia Foundation is okay with such a

[Wikimedia Northern Europe] Event in Stockholm

Hi!

Kacy at WMF told me yesterday afternoon that they will fund the
scholarships, the facilitator and catering for the Northern Europe Meeting
2018, but not the work time for follow-up which we hoped for.

This mean we can do a 2 day event as envisioned!

WMSE will make sure we can secure the venue, accommodation and facilitator
asap and we will get back with final confirmation of the dates.

I hope to see active involvement from all chapters in the preparations and
executions of this event. After all, this entire event is about joint
activities 

I'll get back to you about planing meetings in the coming weeks.

I am thrilled we will be able to welcome many of you to Stockholm shortly!

Hi,

I was informed that a question had been raised if the survey should be
answered by individuals or the organizations. I am sorry that I had missed
the email. The idea is that this should be done by individuals. If you have
discussed it internally you can of course answer the same.

Worth noting is that this seem to be a competitive round, so the engagement
survey is a tool to demonstrate the interest in and importance of the
event.
