Hi WMNYC,

My WiR residency at the Metropolitan New York Library Council is almost
over, so I think it's a good time to report back on my projects with the
local GLAM community.

Find below short summaries of my recent, upcoming, and future Wikipedia
projects and engagements with institutions. If you have any questions about
these projects or would like to get more involved in any one in particular
please let me know.

All the best.

Yours,

Dorothy Howard

*Recent: *

Met with Met Digital Media Dept. They will be having a meeting with Sree
Sreenivasan, about the museum-wide approach to Wikipedia this week. Hoping
to get a Wikipedian-in-Residence there and find/organize staff excited to
edit.

Writing articles for the Frick Art Reference Library as part of my
propose-an-article
project<http://metro.org/articles/metros-propose-a-wikipedia-article-project/>.

2 staff-only trainings next week at NYPL, Mid-Manhattan and SIBL branches.

*Ongoing:*

The Frick Art Reference Library started editing Wikipedia, and created a
Wikipedia 'task force' group of staff. Their editing activities will be
posted on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:GLAM/Frick

The Center for Jewish History now has an institution-wide Wikipedia
committee, headed by Kevin and Leanora, who we’ve been working with. Kevin
just got a GLAM <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:GLAM/CJH> page set
up. See Lea's work on this interview.

As you probably know, Wikimedia NYC is organizing “Wikiconference USA”
which is set for May 30 - June 1st. (Open to the public) Our grant was
submitted to the Wikimedia Foundation and we are waiting for approval but
it is almost guaranteed that we will get it bc of community consensus.

I’m hoping to have a few days in January where I set up a public
information booth for Wikipedia at NYPL. Beginning stages of
brainstorming/planning.
