Hello one and all,
Wikimedia Australia's Melbourne Meetup is on tomorrow Sunday 24 June,
commencing at 11am. The venue is at Computerbank, 483 Victoria Street, West
Melbourne.
This year we started the WMAU Melbourne Meetups in January by celebrating the
11th anniversary of Wikipedia and since then have held the meetup on a regular
monthly basis; which follows on from the excellent long held tradition of
Melbourne meetups, and indeed meetups across the length and breadth of
Australia. We formed a committee to help organise these meetups and therefore
brought together Steve Zhang who is the Coordinator, Anne Frazer and Brian
Salter-Duke, and between the three of us we are hoping to bring regular and
interesting WMAU Melbourne meetups to a community of individuals interested in
wikimedia and what it stands for.
As usual food and drink is provided and there is wi-fi access. We hope you will
come along and participate in the discussions. The meeting is open to and
welcomes WMAU members; wikimedians generally, and people who would not as yet
classify themselves as wikimedians but would like to understand and learn more
about Wikipedia and the wikimedian movement generally.
