Asaf, GAC isn't for Participation grants, I don't know why you throwing that in the people who disagree. Yes, Béria, and I have acknowledged this not once but *twice* in the response that first mentioned the GAC. I was pointing out that the GAC is an opportunity to affect (other) grantmaking of the Foundation, and that we're accepting candidates right now. It seemed a good opportunity to recruit volunteers who evidently care about effective use of movement funds, wouldn't you say? I certainly did not imply, and I think no careful reader of my comment could have been led to believe, that the GAC is involved with the Participation Support program. Re consulting with WMIN, as I said on the talk page, it was an oversight, but the request is now approved, commitments have been made vis-a-vis the host, and we will not reverse the decision at this point. I have certainly been in the wrong here, and am taking steps to ensure it doesn't happen again (specifically, I've created a checklist to go through before future approvals, like the (more complex) checklist we have already had in place for Wikimedia Grants).
