*URI oceanography students target Wikipedia entries* http://www.boston.com/news/local/rhode_island/articles/2010/12/12/uri_oceanography_students_target_wikipedia_entries/ *University of Rhode Island students are using what they've learned and updating dozens of oceanography entries on Wikipedia.* * * *Susanne Menden-Deuer, a professor at the university's Graduate School of Oceanography, said she's asked her students to identify a biological oceanography term or topic and improve the entry. She said students could also create a new Wikipedia entry for terms not yet included on the free online encyclopedia.* * * *One student, Conor McManus of Milton, Mass., updated the Wikipedia page on stable isotope analysis in aquatic ecosystems.* * * *He said he chose it because he had learned a little about it as an undergraduate and wanted to learn more. * Regards Tinu Cherian
