Re: [Wikimediaindia-l] [Commons] Commons and the India relation
Thanks a lot Ansu. This is important, keeping in mind that the Commons is virtually the backbone of EVERY Wikimedia project. Nice findings, if these things are included in our presentations during Outreach activities, lot of misconceptions would get clear, and people will definitely know more about it and love it. Thanks. Thank you Arnav. I think it is good when you have 10 sources saying that with 32 lanes, the Delhi-Gurgaon toll booth is the largest in India, but better when you have a picture of it. -- Regards, Srikanth Ramakrishnan. Re: [Wikimediaindia-l] [Commons] Commons and the India relation
The only major reason that my use of Commons has gone down is because I don't think that I'd be doing justice to the article with a pic taken from my camera (2 MP) of my mobile phone will be of any help. I do not particularly like my own pictures. Quite a few people have told me that having a low-res pic is better than no pic at all, but this has not moved me to upload more pics to Commons. Yes, these misconceptions exist. Also, have not tried video or audio upload. A video of a Bangalore traffic snarl for a small period might be good? Re: [Wikimediaindia-l] [Commons] Commons and the India relation
Prad, having a 2mp camera isn't an eligibility criteria here. My initial set of junk came with one of those. I myself didn't like it. But, I uploaded it as there were no other pics. A low per picture is any day better than No Picture. -- Regards, Srikanth Ramakrishnan.
