Ya guys, that is completely unrelated to the outage now.

There was a db error half an hour ago that locked up the database on most
projects, it's a full blown outage at this point. This is not the same as
the last issue.

The ops are aware and working on it, it should be back up soon.

What are you guys talking about?

That looks like a squid error. It really depends on the time and frequency
of when it happens, maybe there was a problem with the proxies, or a minor
server issue or some query that didn't close, it doesn't seem to be
widespread from what I know. Please clear your browser cache and if you
still get it the next time, take another screenshot.

As far as IRC goes, its not run by Wikimedia. It is run by Freenode, a
network, funded by PDPC. And as far as I know, there was no recent outage
of IRC.

You can always check status.wikimedia.org for up to date information about
outage etc., if you notice any outage, please feel free to mention it here,
someone will see or forward the query to the relevant department.

If you want to use IRC on the web itself, such errors can not be avoided.
In such scenerio, use the irc client on your PC. I think MIRC is the usual
IRC client on windows and xchat and many others available on linux.

If the irc server itself is having problems and giving errors , none of the
client (including webclient) will work.

Like the page says, the best place to get live help and info on whats wrong
is the #wikipedia irc channel:

or you can check the operational status of different services on
http://status.wikimedia.org/

I have not faced any issues so far, mr wiki also opens up fine. If the
problem persists you should post on the irc channel, someone is sure to
help put.
