[Wikimediauk-l] An email contact list perhaps we should be added to.

2010-08-20 Thread Bod Notbod
Hi,

Stumbled across this page on Meta:

http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Chapters_email_management

Hardly any projects are listed thus far, but I thought I'd notify the
UK Chapter so it can consider adding itself.

Best,

Hi Botnotbod,

Thanks for the reminder - I've added WMUK's info to the page.

Thanks,
Mike

Re: [Wikimediauk-l] 2010 Wikimedia Fundraising

2010-08-20 Thread Thomas Dalton
I'd just like to endorse everything Bod has said. The WMUK board are
in the process of doing the bits only we can do (approving the
fundraising agreement with the WMF, for example) but it would be
really helpful if other UK Wikimedians (members of the chapter or not,
although if not, you really should join!) could help out with the rest
of the work. Coming up with good banners is a very big part of that.
It seems very likely that we'll be able to have separate banners for
different countries this fundraiser, so try and come up with messages
that will really appeal to UK donors. Thanks!

 Hello,

Just thought I'd mention, since I hadn't seen anything on this list
yet, that 2010 Fundraising plans are being made. I assume some of you
will want to get involved since the Chapter stands to raise some money
 too.

Here's the main page on Meta:

As always, banners will be a key fundraising device, so do comment on them.

I actually find donor comments more compelling and I'm in the process
of pulling out comments from the donation logs. You can help; please
see the To Do list here:

 ...and get involved.

 Cheers,
