Re: [Wikitech-l] VisualEditor - still in beta?

2020-05-11 Thread Peter Pelberg
hi Martin – I work as the product manager for the team at the
Foundation [i] that is responsible for building and maintaining the visual
editor.

You can expect answers to the two questions you posed before Wednesday is
over (PST)...I'm wanting to share the most up-to-date and exhaustive
answers which require getting input from others people here.

In the meantime, two questions for you:

   1. Are there particular wikis you had in mind when you asked this
   question?
   2. By "Beta" are you referring specifically to projects where the visual
editor exists as a feature within Beta Features [ii]? Were you referring to
projects where the visual editor is not as widely available as you think it
   could/should be? Something else?

[Wikitech-l] New Feature from Community Tech: Enhanced Password Reset

2020-05-11 Thread Ilana Fried
Hello everyone,

The Community Tech team[1] has released a new feature: Enhanced Password
Reset[2]. We developed this feature in response to the #3 wish[3] from the 2019
Community Wishlist Survey[4]. With this feature, you can prevent password
reset emails from being sent unless both your username and email address
are provided on Special:PasswordReset. This is an optional feature,
available in the “Email options” section of Preferences. If you enable the
feature, you can reduce harassment through unsolicited password reset
emails. For more information, you can visit the Help:Password Reset page[5]
and the project page[6].

Thank you,

Ilana Fried

Re: [Wikitech-l] CI downtime Monday May 11st 12:00 UTC

2020-05-11 Thread Antoine Musso
Hello,

We tried the upgrade and unfortunately had to rollback.

The operation itself went smoothly (rsync, puppet, dns) but we have hit
an issue with Jenkins no more being able to allocate an instance to run
jobs on.

I suspect it might be related to the java upgrade (8 to 11). I will try
to find the root cause and we will schedule a new maintenance window.

For patches missing a CI result, you can retrigger it by commenting in
Gerrit "recheck" or for changes that had Code-Review +2, remove your
vote and apply it again to trigger the test and merge.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
