The tracking bug for global gadgets (aka Gadgets 2.0) is
<https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=gadgets-2.0>. If you
want to take a look at the work in gerrit,
<https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/q/project:mediawiki/extensions/Gadgets+branch:RL2,n,z>
shows the patches happening in the "RL2" branch. We've also been making
some changes to core in the process.
