You probably want a separate code path in shellpath.c for the Mac. I
don't think XDG works there.
Can check, but make sure you do not use ObjC code. AJ will reject.

Mac OSX uses directories named Documents/, Pictures/, Videos/,
I think Linux has the same problem too.
