I have been to the top of rotten 65 footers too many times
Anyone using old utility poles for aerial real estate? Our local
electric company has agreed to let us have the old extracted poles for
$0.20/ft. any suggestions for installing poles and mounting equipment
onto them? Lengths are 30-40ft

We use them at times. That is a pretty good price if they are in good
enough shape to climb.

We have a few pole mounted systems.
Have a good electrical contractor install them and they'll know how to set
the poles.
As for mounting, I usually use sat dish mounts.
