[WISPA] 168 Bidders Qualify in FCC Auction

The auction of 1,122 licenses, slated to begin on Aug. 9, covers slices of the airwaves that are currently used by the federal government. The FCC also issued a list of more than 80 would-be participants whose applications were rejected. upcoming auction of Advanced Wireless Services licenses in the 1710-1755 MHz and 2110-2155 MHz bands (“AWS-1”) (Auction No. 66).1 Bidding in Auction No. 66 is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, August 9, 2006.
