The methodology the FCC uses to measure spectrum (channel) width is such
that a 7 mhz channel actually means one of our 10 mhz channels for OFDM.
Understand that there's simple less energy radiated at the edges of the
channel, due to the way modulation works, and so they measure the channel

PowerBridgeM5 says 20km of distance but I guess that's right at the edge. So a
pair of RocketM5's and Dishes should help me push the distance and give me the
speed. Do the rockets have the same OSPF issue that is currently being worked
on?

Powerbridge has a more powerful transmitter, and I think it's 27db vs
22db on the nanobridge.

Not to mention running 40MHz channels long range at 25dbi.

PowerBridge looks like an oversized Nano5M to me. I can see use for it,

dish in that type of setting but I'm not sure how it would be for long range
production.

I wouldn't go with a panel antenna at that range. A 12 mile shot isn't that
far, really, I have a 12 mile shot just using the 27dbi AirGrid but that's
single polarity. I'm working on a 15 mile shot right now and wouldn't
consider a panel but am going for the Rocket Dish. I have better luck with
The problem is resolvable, that issue is caused by the multicast kernel
module they load.
I believe it should be resolved in the next firmware iteration, rather
then having to manually unload the module.

Have a pair at a 6 mile link. Able to pass 70some megs TCP from laptop
to laptop across the link. Radio Mobile shows this link CLOS. These aren¹t
passing any regular traffic so I don¹t have real world performance.

We've had issues with Ubiquiti and OSPF. We've had to move some sites
to BGP to fix the problem.

Pretty pricey, $265 each retail. They aren't available on the market yet
either, I'd be careful about being an early adopter with Ubiquiti gear.

Wondering if anyone has an opinion good/bad on the Ubiquity PowerBridgeM5.
Need it for a 12 mile link with heavy traffic. Bridged with OSPF pass through.
Something better. Also Looked at the LigoWave LigoPTP5-23 MiMo but prefer
UBNT price.

Hi Tom,
How much RAM? 512 will handle 2 BGP feeds currently, but we recommend
a Gig to cover you for the future.
