E911 is typically done with the originating provider, but there are other E911 companies. - Mike Hammett Intelligent Computing Solutions http://www.ics-il.com On 1/9/2011 12:20 PM, Christopher Hair wrote: Any recommendations for providers that offer VoIP Termination E911. We use Intrado for e911 We have an individual account with Gafachi for testing and such. Pretty slick and great if you're just starting out. The price is a bit higher so if you're doing heavy volume you'll want to switch. Re: [WISPA] Recommendations for VoIP Termination services.
M2/VoipInnovations includes it as part of each line for $1 or less depending on the tier you have. My average line including e911, cnam, and directory listing is just under $4. I know some companies want a $1500 setup fee, or an extra monthly fee, but they do not. We have multiple termination providers like Gafachi, VoipJet, and a few others for failover or calculated rate pricing depending on the terminating DID. [WISPA] GPS Sync / or Sync between devices at site without GPS Question
For the first time I synchronized multiple devices (two backhauls) at a tower site to see what it was all about. All of our gear in the past did not have the capability to sync across devices to save spectrum and/or reduce interference between local devices. In this case I used two Radwin 2000C backhauls with a sync cable between them. Setting up the sync between them was easy however the first thing I noticed was that the available bandwidth was cut in half. Is this typical of all synced units? I guess there would be no more reduction in speed after the first two radios synced because if there were more they would all fire at the same time any way. Did I loose bandwidth because they were in MIMO mode rather than Diversity mode or is the slowdown just a function of the timing reduction to keep things clean? Is the UBNT GPS sync gear going to provide less throughput than I currently experience when their new sync capable gear comes out? Thanks, just trying to get some feedback to learn more about how Syncing devices affects their performance. Scott Carullo Technical Operations 855-FLSPEED x102 WISPA Wants You! The alvarion gear I used with their gps card did not affect bandwidth. [WISPA] Totally OT - USS Nimitz during bad weather- Flight ops on a pitching deck
For those of you who think you have had bad days, watch this two part video. Carrier flight operations are hard enough in good conditions. It will make you appreciate your day to day life no matter how tough it gets. This is an excellent video from KPBS. Why Naval Aviators are the best trained pilots in the world! You can turn on your sound and go full screen. These videos show the difference between Naval Aviation and any other kind. The links below are two videos about F-18 carrier operations aboard the USS Nimitz during weather that causes a severely pitching deck, which you can see in the videos. It's more dangerous than most combat missions and the tension in the pilots and crew is very apparent. Watch Part 1 first, then Part 2. Great videos.
