Re: [WISPA] RB1100
Depending on ports we've really liked the routermaxx 6 port gigabit router. Its affordable and super fast. http://www.balticnetworks.com/routermaxx-6-port-gigabit-router-dual-core .html -Original Message- From: wireless-boun...@wispa.org [mailto:wireless-boun...@wispa.org] On Behalf Of Fred Goldstein Sent: Wednesday, August 11, 2010 10:00 AM To: WISPA General List Subject: Re: [WISPA] RB1100 The RB1000 is discontinued and the 1100 is a box product. What about the RB800? It uses a pretty decent PowerPC processor (with the crypto engine), has a daughtercard to add 10/100 slots, and looks like it can be mounted outdoors. The one thing I don't like is the fan; it is a moving part and I don't like those outdoors. The forums have had some complaints about heat in the CPU, so downclocking it might make sense. Does anyone know the relationship between distance and data rates for the Alvarion BreezeAccess VL in the 5.8 Ghz band? We have a customer who is about 12 miles from our tower and we can only seem to get 1.7mbps to his site. Any advise would be helpful. [WISPA] electro-comm or?????
Anyone else miss having these guys around? Know where the guys landed? I called Tessco the other day for advice on antennas for an application. They wanted to charge me for help in picking out a product that I intended to purchase from them! ug It would be great to be able to talk to Mark, Tee, Lee etc. when I want to try out a new product or just want to experiment with something different than what I normally use today. laters, marlon WISPA Wants You! My sales rep at Tessco has always been able to answer that type of question. Maybe try a sales person instead of support. On 6/16/2011 7:19 PM, Marlon K. These places are probably tired of people calling and getting free advise and support and then having people buy elsewhere. Buy it and try it. That's my motto. Travis On 6/16/2011 5:19 PM, Marlon K.
