Here is a map image I created from the National Broadband Map Data current
as of Round 5 (12-2011). This does not reflect the most current updates you
would have submitted last month. The East Coast states are very
underrepresented. Let's see if we can make a push to change that. If you
know WISP's who are not participating with their state mapping agencies
please encourage them to do so.

Re: [WISPA] East coast storm

2012-10-30 Thread Victoria Proffer
Thank you Martha and Brough for your updated status.

I am so glad you are safe!

For me, his was one of the better mornings to wake up to.

I know that there has been a loss of life, but considering the size of this
storm, it is minimal.

I also know that there will be power issues for days, but it is survivable
and manageable.

I am glad to know that there are concerned folks that were there and ready
to jump in, should this storm had turned a corner for the worse.

I am proud to be a member of WISPA/WECAT, who has been networking since
Saturday to pull people, equipment and whatever the potential WISPs would
have required; should the need have arose.

This storm ingrains the concept even further in me that WISPA members are
not just members of a trade organization, we are a community first, but also
an amazing extended family.

We have the big guys beat, not necessarily by the size of our networks or
our pocket books, but by the size of our hearts.

You guys are wonderful!

God bless you all,

Victoria

Everything working in Boston. Wind, rain, some downed trees causing power
outages.

The most exciting thing I saw was ~100 feet of rubber membrane roof flapping
10-15 feet in the air. Unfortunately it piled up against some roof
structures before I could get a picture.

Thanks,

Brough

Re: [WISPA] Another Ubiquity question

2012-10-30 Thread Olufemi Adalemo
Now in the 7th day of testing on the LM317 DC voltage regulator for the
NSM5 and it's all good news. I regulated the voltage up to about 20v
average and the LM317 doesn't even get warm. With so little heat
dissipation there is likely to be very little loss also. This looks like a
solution
