Re: [WISPA] Current state of Missouri sales tax regs?

2014-01-29 Thread Jim Patient
This looks like a tax for pay per click advertising? Unless something
has changed recently, there is no sales tax on services in MO. We only
charge sales tax if we sell hardware to a customer like an indoor
router, switch, etc. Our tax guy didn't say anything about a change
this year. We maintain ownership of the CPEs and charge for
installation service not the hardware.

You might want to find a local tax guy to go over some of the dos and
don'ts with you.

Hello,

Sorry for emailing suddenly while otherwise being very quite. Would
anyone know the current state of Missouri sales tax regulations for
WISPs? E.g. minimum sales, minimum monthly amount to be considered
taxable, whether install labor is taxed?

I quite randomly happened across this blog post about bill signed by the
MO governor last year, which looked like it might be slightly related
WISPs. Wasn't sure if that did indeed affect WISPs.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for responding, and yes, that confirms my own understanding of the
regs. (Also, understood no one here is an accountant, so everything in
this thread taken with a grain of salt.) I wasn't sure if that recent MO
bill might somehow have creative interpretation to fields beyond
advertising, i.e. counter to its apparent intention.

 INTERESTING!

 I didn't know shireen made a shielded version. That's one reason we've
only used the d-gel for very certain things. It's not listed on our
 primary

Have you tried the Shireen dry gel? I’m addicted.

Stays dry and easy to work with until it gets wet. IF there’s a
problem that allows liquid into the cable it self seals the hole. Pretty
 cool stuff.

I do wish they had a better packaging system. I really miss the
“rabbit pull” mechanism that my indoor cable uses.
