When you send us something that has been destroyed, its rather difficult to
repair. Some units are beyond repair, even at the manufacturer. Remember
we do not charge for unrepaired units.

I sent them 5 units last month, one 5830 AP 5800 Su and 3 Fox 5800. Over a
month later they sent them back to me, none repaired.

I am working with another company that is training on the repair, may have
another option soon.

Hi,

Is there anyone doing Trango repairs for a reasonable rate? Trango wants
$200 per radio.

Thanks,

Oh I forgot, those are the ones I backed over with my duly 3 or 4 times,
lol.
Normal wear and tear. Two, that I know of had burnt out Ethernet ports.
Your tech did state that one was repaired, when in fact it was not.

I guess my real issue was the fact that it took over a month before any one
even looked at them. As well as another company I am working with had the
same issue.

Jack, we need a company like yours especially when Trango wants outrageous
money for repair. It would just be nice if your company was a little more
responsive.

RE: [WISPA] ezlinx.net SPAM

2005-11-24 Thread Jack Weinberg
Hello List,

My name is Jack Weinberg I am the president of Ezlinx.net. We do NOT SPAM
anyone. We do make cold calls to WISPS to tell them of our services. We DO
NOT repair waverider. We are a legitimate company offering repair and selling
refurbed equipment that has been tested with a warranty. We do not keep the
units we do not fix, we return them so the customer has a full accounting of
their units sent in for repair.

If anyone has any issues with our company please feel free to contact me
directly.

I got the same one email. I also get hit with cold calls for people
wanting to fix my radios. I don't know if they are the same company, or
a different scam. The call center making the calls doesn't seem to know
much, but they REALLY want you to send them broken radios.

Them: Do you have any broken out of warranty Tranzeo (or transio) radios?
Me: No. I don't use Tranzeo
Them: We fix all major brands. What kind of wireless CPE do you use?
Me: Waverider. Do you fix Waverider?
Them: Let me check.. yeah, we fix them.
Me: How much.
Them: uh... does $275 sound right?
Me: Have you ever fixed one? We can buy new ones for about $250 in
quantity.
Them: Oh yeah... we fix them all the time How many do you have?
Me: About 25
Them: Well if you send them in, we will send back half of the ones we
fix for no charge.
Me: What do you do with the ones you can't fix?
Them: We keep them for spare parts.
Me: I see. Does your lab have a CCU to test signal level sensitivity with?
Them: Oh yeah, we have all kinds of meters and osciloscopes, and stuff.
Me: Do you know what a CCU is?
Them: uh... let me check. hold on
(long pause)
Them: did we give you the address to send the equipment to?
Me: What equipment?
Them: the Wave equipment.
Me: Should I send the EUM's, the SPK's, or the GLD's. Can you fix all of
those models? (I made up the last two)
Them: Oh yeah. We fix all of those.
Me: I will let you know.

Someone posted recently on how their CPE serial numbers that they sent
in for repair showed up on ebay. I am not sure these "repair shops"
spammers aren't fronts for ebay shops, but if they do a lot of "fix and
send back half" work, they could have a lot of excess refirb equipment
legitimately. I am just leary of anyone who "can fix anything" but
doesn't know what it is.

I believe the local police or DA's office is the starting point . Does you
router route thru to a computer with credit card info?? If so it becomes a

The times that I have detected attempted hacks, the source IP has always
been out of my area. I usually will email a "cease and desist" request
to the DNS Whois abuse address, and block that address from my firewall.
If I had a subscriber attempting to break in, I would probably email him
the logs and ask him what he is trying to do.

Rick,

The prime example is Earthlink's failure in most markets.

Subject: [WISPA] Muni-Wireless

On my schedule I was to install wireless on a couple of water towers
at a nearby city in order to expand my network ans service the area. I
just heard from the Mayor of that city that they are considering free
muni-wireless. Personally, I think a salesman got in the door. Now, I
have plenty of other towns nearby that want me but I hate to see
another town go down that road. So, I told the Mayor I would come up
with resources and reasons to consider before moving forward. Looking
for websites, storys, comments, suggestions. Anyone?
Thanks!

This is from the Tower Pro list. I have nothing to do with the equipment.
It is posted for information only. If you buy any tell Zack to mail the 10%

check to WISPA.

Hey all
I recently got the opportunity to buy a lot of refurbished Tropos Wifi units

that go on top of light poles. Ive been able to use a few on some local
projects but am looking to unload the remainder of them. If anyone has a
lead that produces a sale I'd give that person a 10% commission on it. I'm
looking to move either the whole lot or lots of 100 at a minimum. No small
lots. Ive got 600 refurbished Tropos 5210-3000 units. New they go for about
$3k each but I'm asking $450 each on these units. They all come with new
antennas (critical) and the original photovoltaic power cords and sun
shields. As I indicated they are used/refurbished but in good working order.

Terms would be as is where is.

Given that some of you might be doing the ATT WiFi installations I figured I

would throw it out here and see if someone wants to make some easy money and

get these off my hands. Thanks for the help, stay safe.

Hi folks,

This post is more for personal interest than professional. I'm usually an
excellent Google searcher, but pulling up info about eBay in terms of
reputable eBay resellers, top eBay stores, etc. is proving difficult.
So, I thought I'd go straight to you since I know most of you have at some
point (or frequently) sell or purchase off eBay.

Any opinions on good eBay resellers of wireless gear? Any horror stories
about companies to stay away from?

Patrick

below. A new Alvarion carrier group was formed a few months ago and I was
asked to join that group. After 9 years (not counting my 3 years as a
BreezeCOM manufacturers rep) of being in the Alvarion channel supporting
VAR's, distributor's, and Wisp's, it was time for a change. A req was opened
and several interviews have taken place so a new hire in the Northeast

I'm sure I will see some of you at shows etc and I wish wellness and happy

Matt;

This is going to be a bit rough but I feel the need to call a this as I see
it. You are running roughshod on a lot of people with your fear mongering
and it needs to be called into the open. So...

 > >> In discussions with others it has come to my attention that several >

... but you most certainly do sound like a vulture ...

What makes you such an authority on CALEA, Matt? What qualifications or
experience with CALEA do you bring to the table that give credence to the
fear that you are mongering on this list? Purchasing compliance does not
constitute authoritative knowledge.

Most ISPs will be able to satisfy the CALEA requirements for less than
$200.00. Yep, that is what I said. When the WISPA Standard gets blessed,
and I did say when, there will be an open source implementation. It will
provide safe harbor and it will run on low end hardware. Having had the
personal experience of working with the LEAs a number of times since about
1990 I feel perfectly comfortable in expressing my dismay at the egregious
misinformation and negative speculation you have posted on this list. CALEA
compliance is only going to be a problem for those WISPs who refuse to do
due diligence in coming to compliance.

Honestly Matt, what you have demonstrated on this list is that you have a
talent for fear mongering and then exploiting the poor gullible people who
bought into that fear mongering.

Mind you that is only my opinion, but I am keeping it. I strongly encourage
anyone who is currently in fear of CALEA to just go reread the FAQ. Read it
critically, ensure that you have filed your documents thru Kris to the FBI.
Then relax. The FBI is working very well with the committee. Progress is
being made very quickly on a tough problem.
Just relax people. Don't make a stupid mistake based upon pure horse hockey
and spin which only serves to benefit those who would exploit your fear. If
you want to sell, don't let CALEA compliance be any part of your decision.
