2013-06-26 Thread Terry White

customers. the only thing i find on these customers is when looking in the ap i
find the following line at the bottom of the su info command. all the subs that
are having problems have a 0 at the maxed out tx retry. [RF Tx Retry at SU] 0
[RF Tx Retry Maxed Out at SU] 0

[WISPA] Trango M900 ap

2013-06-13 Thread Terry White
I had a trango M900 ap that got hit by lightning and I had to replace it. the
one I replaced it with has an older firmware version and is randomly rebooting
itself. After some research I found a newer firmware that is suppose to fix the
problem but I can't find step by step instructions on how to upload the
firmware to the ap. My command line skills are not that great so any help would
be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

[WISPA] EZ bridge (nanobridge) M5 firmware ?

2013-05-16 Thread Terry White
I have had a pair of EZ bridge 5 ghz links fall into my lap. It looks to me
that they are just nano bridge m5 with a customized firmware for the ez-bridge
company. Anybody see any problem with putting ubnt nanobridge m5 firmware on it
instead.

Re: [WISPA] Excede (viasat-1) Satalitte Internet

2012-03-01 Thread Terry White
Yes 149 activation fee 9.95 monthly lease fee and
49.99 month 10 gb data cap
79.99 month 15 GB data cap
129.99 month 25 gb data cap.
Also seen 49.99 for 7 gb data cap and 54.99 for 10 gb data cap.

Looks like it has about 600-800 ms latency and tesymy.net shows speed test at
around 10-14 mg

I'm not familiar with them but that service has got to have bandwidth caps like
DirecWay. Also it's hard to believe that Skype and Vonage would work well
because they must be over-sold (high contention ratio) at that price.

Any Comments?

I think you are comparing apples to oranges IMO.

19dB Tranzeo vs 8dB Nano is not going to get the same performance.

Having that right now. MT RB411 AP with XR2. UBNT Nanstation M2
Connection rate all over the place and on a video stream drops clear down
  to
3.3M with 45% CCQ. Throw a OLD Tranzeo CPG-19 at the site and get a solid
48 MB 90% CCQ. I have seen this on this sector mostly and it was all
replaced in DEC due to ICE getting in the RB case. May Climb in a week or
two and Change to a Rocket with a new 120* sector.

But you asked Josh. Yep I have had it.

Might have to start drinking the ubiquity koolaid. I've just not had

I replaced my Tranzeo stuff with Mikrotik way back before Ubiquiti had
their stuff. I doubt I will ever use a Tranzeo radio again.
