Also, one more quick thing it would be helpful if you would post the
Paypal address and mailing address at the bottom of every one of your
"update" emails... to make it easier for people. You could even post a
direct link to the Paypal account inside your email. :)

Re: [WISPA] [WISPA Members] [Board] Lobbying Fund Drive Update

2009-01-30 Thread Rick Harnish
Donations slowed down today. I really want everyone to do some soul
searching over the weekend. We need more assistance from everyone on this
fundraising project. "Ask not what WISPA can do for you, but what can I do
for WISPA"! Ok, that was corny, but it has been a long week J Less than
10% of the WISPA members have stepped up and made donations to this cause
and we are nearly half way to our goal. I have done enough fundraising in
my time to realize that the last push for is the most important. The
pledges are smaller and it takes longer to accumulate, but it is still very
important to keep asking, even for the smallest donations. Anyone who wants
to make an anonymous pledge, please let me know and I will list the pledge
amount with Anonymous as the name.

These donations will be used to fund Lobbying Efforts directly correlated to
the Broadband Stimulus Act and resulting directives on funding dispersal.
These agencies include the FCC, NTIA and the USDA. As rulemaking, policy
and procedure is being defined, we will have a chance to help guide the
rulemaking. Tom DeReggi and his Legislative team are committed to working
with Rini-Coran through this process. I have also committed time in my
calendar to go to DC as needed. WISPA has already committed funds to the
TVWhitespaces lobbying, which is ongoing at this time. This funding request
is above and beyond that.

I know a lot of the list below personally and I know that many of the
amounts pledged were probably more than they could afford. It just goes to
show the character of those people and the faith they are putting in WISPA
to help them insure their success in the future. Please send me an email
with your pledge as I would like to wrap this up by midweek next week.
