WEBSITE PROVIDES INFO ON BROADBAND AVAILABILITY
The Center for Public Integrity (CPI) added material on broadband providers in a website redesign. Visitors to PublicIntegrity.org can find the number of such providers in each zip code. CPI said its effort to identify all companies selling fast Web service by location failed when the FCC said Sept. 26 it wouldn’t provide the information. The FCC denied a Freedom of Information Act request because the data sought by CPI contain proprietary material, said the group. CPI also is listing the number of TV and radio stations and cable operators in each zip code.
