Re: [WISPA] Snow in New Orleans
Snow around here is usually less then 12". Anything more then that schools may or may not close, depending on the current superintendent (we go through this cycle - no closings, car accidents when coming into school, new superintendent, lots of closings). If less then an inch took out your power someone isn't doing their job right... We have had 1/4" sheets of ice around everything - buildings, cars, towers, antennas, power lines hanging a few feet lower - and the power stays on for most of the area and everything operates as it would normally. Except those damn grid antennas... I've busted through big drifts in a truck with a plow, and in my car. Car is more fun, as long as it's not hard or wet snow. Wow... schools closed? Really? We usually have to get 12 inches or more PLUS a big wind (20-30mph) for them to close our schools here anymore.
